As I sit here drinking my protein shake, with sweat dripping down my face, and my cute dog Kobe staring at me waiting to go on a walk before bed, I have to laugh… If you are anything like me, more than once in life you have come up with an excuse as why you cannot workout…whether it is you do not have enough money for a membership, you are too tired, you do not have time to go to the gym… we have all made an excuse at one time or another. Tonight, was one of those days. After a 12 hour day at work, I was exhausted. I got home, got my nails done, and had full intentions of going to the gym…then I got home from the nail shop, began talking with Len, cooked dinner, and before I knew it, it was 8PM and my hopes to go to the gym had gone out the window… I really needed to get a workout in but did not want to leave the house so I looked at Len and said, “Can you put me together a little workout at home for me?” He kind of laughed at first, until he realized I was serious. As I walked into the living room I saw weights, an ab roller, a stability ball, and a resistance band. I was thinking at first that these five workouts were going to be easy and I should of just taken my ass to the gym…well, here I am, drenched in sweat, laughing at myself for thinking that just because I was not at the gym that I was not going to get a good workout in.
Do not get me wrong, 99% of the time, I would pick going to my gym over working out at home BUT that should not stop anyone from working out, at home.
